About me
I’m Carroll Chiramel, a Canadian Screen Award–nominated film and television editor shaped by two dynamic film worlds Mumbai’s vibrant industry, where I began my career in 1999, and Canada’s creative landscape, where I refined my craft at the Canadian Film Centre’s Norman Jewison Film Program. Working across cultures, languages, and genres has given me a storytelling voice that blends the emotional sweep of world cinema with the precision and clarity of contemporary filmmaking.
My work has travelled widely: Under the Same Sun won the Audience Award at the Heartland Film Festival; Meet the Parents earned Best Short Film at the African Movie Academy Awards; and Forbidden Tikka Masala reached global audiences through Omeleto and TIFF’s digital platform. Sight, a horror short, screened at Fantasia Indternational Film Festival. I edited the CSA‑nominated comedy series 18to35, as well as Potluck Ladies, a SeriesFest winner and CSA nominee.
I bring a mix of old‑school intuition and new‑school technique to every project cutting with rhythm, instinct, and a deep respect for the emotional truth of a story.
